When you hit the ball, you can’t just let it collide with your raquet, you also should slide your raquet a little while it’s got contact with the ball. That will give it spin (top or bottom spin) and make it change course in the air.

Experiment with it a bit. You’ll find that timing and angle will let you serve in ways where your opponent will be lucky if they can even return it.
